Numb. 12:1  And Miriam spoke, with Aaron, concerning Moses regarding the Cushite woman whom he had taken, for he had taken a Cushite woman.

Numb. 12:2  And they said, “Has the Lord but spoken only with Moses?  Has He not also spoken with us?”  And the Lord heard.

Numb. 12:3  Now the man Moses was the most meek out of all the people that were on the face of the earth.

Numb. 12:4  So the Lord spoke immediately to Moses and to Aaron and to Miriam:  “Come out, you three, to the tent of meeting.”  And the three of them came out.

Numb. 12:5  Then the Lord descended in a cloud column that stood at the entrance of the tent.  And He summoned Aaron and Miriam, and both of them came forth.

Numb. 12:6  And He said, “Hear now My words.  When your prophet of the Lord might arise, I would be known to him in a vision; I will speak with him in a dream.”

Another revealing verse!  The Lord here tells us that He speaks to His prophets in dreams and visions.  The rabbis of old thought that the prophetic period ended with the latter bible prophets.  What do you think?  Do we still have prophets today?  I believe we do.  Ordinary people!  But they have dreams and visions that I believe are from the Lord, His “speaking” to us.

Numb. 12:7  “It is not so of My servant, Moses.  In all My house, he is most trusted.”

Numb. 12:8  “I can speak with him mouth to mouth, and plainly, and not with obscure utterances, and he can behold the manifestation of the Lord.  Then why do you not fear to speak about My servant, about Moses?”

Numb. 12:9  And the “anger” of the Lord was kindled toward them, and He departed.

Numb. 12:10   Then the cloud withdrew from the tent and behold, Miriam was with leprosy, like snow.  And Aaron turned and looked at Miriam and lo, she was leprous.

Numb. 12:11   And Aaron said to Moses, “Oh, my lord, please do not lay on us the punishment of a sin that we did foolishly and that we committed.”

Numb. 12:12   “Please do not let her be as one dead who, on his coming out of the womb of his mother, that half his flesh has been eaten.”

Numb. 12:13   Then Moses cried out to the Lord saying, “O God, please bring healing now to her.”

Numb. 12:14   Then the Lord said to Moses, “Were her father to but spit in her face, would she not be humiliated seven days?  You shall shut her up seven days outside of the camp, and after she may assemble.”

Numb. 12:15   And Miriam was shut up outside of the camp seven days, and the people did not journey until the reception of Miriam.

Numb. 12:16   Then after, the people journeyed from Hazeroth and camped in the wilderness of Paran.
