מִזְמוֹר לְדָוִד הָבוּ לַיהוָה בְּנֵי אֵלִים הָבוּ לַיהוָה כָּבוֹד וָעֹז׃   29:1

Psal. 29:1   A psalm of David's:

                      Ascribe to the Lord, you children of the mighty!

                               Ascribe to the Lord glory and strength!

This psalm declares the magnificent power and glory of the Lord.

הָבוּ לַיהוָה כְּבוֹד שְׁמוֹ הִשְׁתַּחֲווּ לַיהוָה בְּהַדְרַת־קֹדֶשׁ׃   29:2

Psal. 29:2   Ascribe to the Lord the splendor of His name!

                               Bow down before the Lord in the splendor of Holiness!

קוֹל יְהוָה עַל־הַמָּיִם אֵל־הַכָּבוֹד הִרְעִים יְהוָה עַל־מַיִם רַבִּים׃   29:3

Psal. 29:3   The voice of the Lord is upon the waters;

                                the God of glory, of thunder, the Lord, is over great waters.

קוֹל־יְהוָה בַּכֹּחַ קוֹל יְהוָה בֶּהָדָר׃   29:4

Psal. 29:4   The voice of the Lord is powerful;

                                the majestic voice of the Lord.

קוֹל יְהוָה שֹׁבֵר אֲרָזִים וַיְשַׁבֵּר יְהוָה אֶת־אַרְזֵי הַלְּבָנוֹן׃   29:5

Psal. 29:5   The voice of the Lord crushes cedars;

                                yes, the Lord destroys the cedars of Lebanon.

וַיַּרְקִידֵם כְּמוֹ־עֵגֶל לְבָנוֹן וְשִׂרְיֹן כְּמוֹ בֶן־רְאֵמִים׃   29:6

Psal. 29:6   And He makes them skip like a calf,

                                Lebanon and Sirion, like a child of unicorns.

Not only cedars, but Lebanon itself and the region’s highest mountain, Mt. Lebanon (Sirion)!

קוֹל־יְהוָה חֹצֵב לַהֲבוֹת אֵשׁ׃   29:7

Psal. 29:7   The voice of the Lord divides the flames of fire.

קוֹל יְהוָה יָחִיל מִדְבָּר יָחִיל יְהוָה מִדְבַּר קָדֵשׁ׃   29:8

Psal. 29:8   The voice of the Lord can shake the wilderness;

                               the Lord can shake the wilderness of Kadesh.

קֹול יְהוָה יְחֹולֵל אַיָּלֹות וַיֶּחֱשֹׂפ יְעָרֹות וּבְהֵיכָלֹו כֻּלֹּו אֹמֵר כָּבֹוד׃   29:9

Psal. 29:9   The voice of the Lord can make calves come forth of does,

                               and He uncovers forests;

                      and in His Temple His congregation declares His glory.

יְהוָה לַמַּבּוּל יָשָׁב וַיֵּשֶׁב יְהוָה מֶלֶךְ לְעֹולָם׃   29:10

Psal. 29:10   The Lord of the flood dwells,

                                and the Lord, the King, dwells forever.

יְהוָה עֹז לְעַמֹּו יִתֵּן יְהוָה יְבָרֵךְ אֶת־עַמֹּו בַשָּׁלֹום׃   29:11

Psal. 29:11   The Lord will give strength to His people;

                                the Lord will bless His people with peace.
